Recently, we had the opportunity to create social media content for MacArthur Airport in Islip, NY while we were heading to Florida for a mini family vacation! We shot clips for an Instagram reel as well as a small collection of photos and short video clips that they could use on social media.
The goal was simple: create content that feels natural, engaging and personal. We shot it with the Osmo Pocket 3 (we love it!), and mixed with a few phone shots as well. Since it was real content that we created when we were heading on vacation, it really was as natural as it could be! We love flying out of MacArthur airport so it’s a blast documenting WHY we love it. It’s so close to our house, parking is a breeze, going through security takes no time, and it’s such a calm experience. It’s the best way to start our trips, and honestly one of the reasons why we keep ending up going to Florida!
This gave MacArthur Airport a collection of content they could pull from for future Instagram posts, Stories, and Reels - anything that they need!
One of my favorite things about creating content for businesses is that is can look completely different depending on the business! A restaurant doesn't need the same type of content as a real estate agent. A hotel doesn't need the same content as a fitness studio. And an airport certainly doesn't need the same content as a photographer!
The goal is to create imagery and video that makes sense for that specific brand, their audience, and the way they actually show up online. For MacArthur Airport, that meant capturing the experience of the airport in a way that could translate naturally to social media - from a longer Instagram reel to quick clips that could be used individually.
