There’s something truly special about capturing those first moments with your newborn right in the comfort of your own home! I’ve been absolutely loving in-home newborn sessions lately. There’s no pressure, no need to pack up the diaper bag or rush out the door — you’re cozy, relaxed, and surrounded by the space you’ve made your own. I’m simply there to document this season of life just as it is — the snuggles, the silliness, and everything in between.
These sessions are a perfect blend of lightly posed images and those in between moments. They’re especially great if there is an older sibling or other little ones, because we have the freedom to follow their lead. If your toddler wants to dance around the living room? Let’s do it! If they want to show me their favorite toys or get extra silly? I’m all in! I always say — let the older kids be kids, and we’ll capture all the genuine smiles, sweet newborn snuggles, and beautiful family moments along the way.
I had previously photographed this family with their now oldest at a beach by their house. Those images are still some of my favorites to this day! Looking back on them is extra meaningful to me now, especially because now that I have a son of my own, I really see how fast they grow up!
It was truly such an honor to be invited back to document their next new chapter! Fast forward to the present, and this sweet family recently welcomed a brand new baby into the world! We spent the morning moving through their home, photographing sweet newborn cuddles on the couch, some quiet moments in the living room, and cozy snuggles in the master bedroom. Watching these two siblings interact was so heartwarming — the perfect mix of silly giggles and soft, sweet love. We captured a combination of guided poses and those fleeting, real-life moments that happen naturally when you’re just loving on your new little one.
Every session like this reminds me just how quickly time passes — the newborn snuggles, the toddler giggles, the tiny milestones that fill up your days.
