Your kids will never be this little again… let’s capture it at the beach!
I’m offering limited Beach Mini Sessions at Robert Moses State Park on September 14, 2025! Quick, fun, and stress-free family photos with both posed and candid moments!
Last summer, I had the absolute joy of photographing Garrett and Lauren’s proposal, and I can’t believe it’s already been a year since that gorgeous evening! As a Long Island proposal photographer, moments like these are some of my absolute favorites to capture - full of surprise, happy tears, and so much love!
Leading up to the proposal itself, Garrett came prepared with a few ideas, and when the day came, he was all set! We met at Field 5 off Robert Moses Beach and walked down to the Fire Island Lighthouse together. Lauren was out enjoying dinner and drinks with friends, totally unaware of what was about to happen which was all part of the master plan! The plan was simple - after dinner, her and her friends would take a casual stroll to the lighthouse, where Garrett would be waiting to pop the question!
Garrett and I chatted while waiting for Lauren to arrive, and I got to hear sweet stories about their relationship. Once we got the heads up that they were getting closer to the lighthouse, I hid off to the side to capture the moment!
Once Lauren arrived (and she brought her pup Kismet too!!), it was game time! Lauren spotted him from afar, and I heard her say something along the lines of - “is that my boyfriend?!” It all clicked, and I’m sure she realized why she was really at the lighthouse! Garrett dropped to one knee, asked the big question, and of course Lauren said yes!!! They took a few minutes to soak it all in with their friends before we wandered around the lighthouse for some engagement photos of just the two of them.
The sky really showed up for them that evening! It was the perfect mix of blue skies, and we ended up being treated to a gorgeous sunset! We ended the evening with a walk by the bay as the sun dipped below the horizon, and we all walked back to our cars together!

It was an absolute honor to photograph this beautiful family again as they welcomed their second child, capturing a mix of posed and candid moments, heartfelt moments they'll treasure forever. Long Island Newborn Family Photographer
There are so many perfect local spots for family photography on Long Island. I love to surprise my clients with location suggestions because sometimes we forget what is right around us!! I am a photographer based out of Sayville, NY and not only does our adorable town have so many awesome shops and a picturesque Main Street, we also have beautiful parks and landscapes. Here are some of my favorite spots for photo sessions in Sayville!
Sayville Marina Park
We have the best of both worlds here! I always say that all we need is a little nook for beautiful photographs, and that is definitely the case at Sayville Marina Park. We have the backdrop of the bay, we have the small sandy beach, and we have the docks. There is also a walkway for some in the moment candid shots, and tons of trees to feel like we are right in nature! Bonus…there is a playground for your children to play on afterwards!
Meadow Croft Estate
I love this spot because it is so quiet! The Meadow Croft Estate is a mid-nineteenth century farmhouse from the Gold Coast Era. Theodore Roosevelt’s cousin once lived there and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Washington D.C. It has a ton of history, and there are even tours of the Estate on the weekends! In front of the estate is a giant open grassy area. There are also some small hidden walking paths nestled between the trees and the creek the estate sits on. The driveway when you pull into the estate is full of reeds and makes the perfect backdrop as well! Bonus for this one…there is actually a vineyard on the property!!! Loughlin Vineyard is open on the weekends and honestly...I’d love to photograph a session in the actual vineyard one day!!!
San Souci Park
San Souci consists of a maze of trails. It’s popular for walking, mountain biking further into the trail, and pups! It is right off of Sunrise Highway and easy to get to. There are so many different paths that it is perfect for the family who loves the outdoors. The paths are very easy to walk around and there are a ton of off-shoot paths to stop for photographs. Since there are so many different paths throughout the park, it is easy to feel like we are the only ones there, which is what I love about this park! Bonus (probably more so for the moms)…Target is literally steps away from the park, LOL!
Islip Grange
Islip Grange is a hot spot for photo sessions! Family photo sessions, weddings, engagement sessions.. People tend to flock here. It’s beautiful and I totally understand why it’s so popular! It has small rolling hills and cute historic buildings around the park. The buildings and walking paths allow a variety of different photographs in a small area. It can get crowded on the weekends between events like the Sayville Farmers’ Market and wedding photography, so this is a place I would suggest to hit for a weekday session. Bonus…there is a playground here and it is a little further away from where we would take photos. It’s a good surprise for a treat after the photo session!
Around Main Street!
Main Street in Sayville is super cute! I’d suggest a photo session along Main Street in the morning, when there aren’t too many people out and about. Imagine walking along the sidewalks of Main Street and taking in the morning sun. I spoke about the importance of small little nooks before, and I can promise you that I know the perfect spots along Main Street. The Common Ground at Rotary Park is right behind Main Street as well, which is a nice location for some variety! Bonus...as the town wakes up, you can browse through the shops and eateries in town, like Fritzsche’s Bakery, Little Shoppe of Crystals, Emma Rose NY, Sayville Chocolatier, Down the Rabbit Hole Wine Boutique, Paris Street Market, Sayville Cheese, Serendipity Boutique.. the list goes on and on! You can even turn it into an all day adventure and head down to the ferries to spend some time on Fire Island!
With all these different locations throughout Sayville, it’s easy to see how it is so beautiful here! We don’t have to go far to capture the photo session of your dreams, which is what I love about Long Island!
